Dear Parents/Carers,
There have been local reports of a large group of young people planning to go to Carr Mill Dam at the weekend to enjoy the weather and go into the water which we are highly concerned about. We believe there is an ever growing number of young people planning to attend. Each year there are sadly multiple deaths due to people going into open water and not realising how cold the water is, especially when it is hot weather.
Please can we ask that you discuss the dangers of entering open water with your child(ren) and that you monitor their whereabouts this weekend to help keep them safe.
Of course it is not just Carr Mill Dam where this may happen so please stay vigilant.
